01-12-06MidnightIt's 12:01 am and here I am on this slow old computer of ours, typing a homework I should have finished hours ago. It's actually pretty nice piece, although it's a bit too mushy for my taste. But oh well, what can you expect when the author was writing it while simultaneously having stomach pains due to what she supposes is premature ulcer, and with a brain dried out by a 3-hour long accounting exam followed by a 5-hour case meeting. The setting is so not appropriate for the creation of beautiful pieces of literature. So there. I even had to let Bianca proof-read the final copy, which i apparently printed out without even changing the date of the template from Nov. 24, 2005, to Jan 12, 2006. And when I did correct it, I wrote Dec 12, 2006 instead. Spaceout... And it had such big grammatical errors as would make Sr. Fermin's hair all fall out. I was so 'bangag' that I was even started to stumble on my own words. For some weird reason, the words just don't come out right. Like shipwreck became 'shickwrept' or something like that. I even described hair as 'gold long hair'. 0_0 Imagine the wreck I must have been! Bianca also had to sternly scold me because it was apparently obvious that i had no plans or a deep understanding of how i want the piece to turn out. She said maybe I should think about it for a while, becuase it was a pretty emotional piece. Like I had time! The only free moments i could spare during the past few days I've used for sleeping, thank you very much. But she did have a point. Maybe I'll revise the piece sometime.
About "the piece" I keep blabbering about tonight. Its a take on what Neil Gaiman did for the wicked queen in Snow, Glass and Apples. We're supposed to pick a fairytale and create a retelling from another character's point of view. I picked one that used to particularly interest me: the wife of the prince in the Little Mermaid. I've always wondered about her although she's a very minor character who was even omitted entirely in some versions. And you'll know why if you try to ask me about it in person. ^^ Anyway, the requirement was only 1 page of text, and it was quite a challenge to fit the retelling in 1 bond paper with the required font size of 12 in verdana and 1.5 spacing.
Anyway, you have to forgive my incoherence. I admit I'm pretty tired and am only writing this because I'm waiting for the computer to finish it's loading and printing and what not.
Good night.

First Accounting Exam over!Yeah!! Glad that's done, unfortunately, I'm not that sure if I'll be happy with the results. Oh well... That's how every accounting exam is, i think. A big blindfolded toss of a coin, afterwhich there is just that blank space of suspended tension. And then the result comes after. X_x Make that 2 tosses. One before the exam, and one after. Grawr! And although the wait is often more excruciating than the actual thing, this may not be one of those instances. The actual thing is sometimes worse than expected even. But let's hope not... X_x
Anyway, it's friday the 13th today, and a full moon is hanging up in the sky. Cool ne? Someone who's interested in Wicca told me this was a magical day. So I'm temporarily staying away from the fortune-telling game vigile and I discovered. We wouldn't want to discover that whatever bad thing we predicted might come true. *shudders* But it was fun. ^^
Some of the Fortune-telling results I remember and am willing to share:
Stacy is going to migrate, marry a foreigner and be very successful and influential.
Vigile will marry someone more than 10 years older than her *harhar* and graduate from an Ivy league school.
Kimmy will end up with a bad boy time of guy who loves her more than she loves him, which changes him and makes him a good guy. Hehehe...
Selda will have the most successful children and a younger husband who is under her. ^^
Mia will have the most likeable boyfriend and the best love story? I think...
Tracy will live her dreams and marry someone she really loves.
Sig will end up with the tallest, smartest husband who Vigile and I think may be a doctor.
and I will have the happiest life. Although I'll die the earliest. u_u
There are other bad predictions, but this is just for fun, so none of them can have much more truth than the horoscope section of the newspaper, but it was fun anyway. ;)
And then I have 2 more exams coming up. Also, I am now currently reading the Rule of Four, which is so much better than the Da Vinci Code. *spits out title*

Back From Mars! Hehehe... :D
Grr... I can't get this new lay-out all right. Waah! It has too many mistakes! I'm gonna fix them eventually though. So don't look too close yet. ;)

2006!New Year... so its 2006 already. Somehow, I don't really see or feel any different (not that I really expected much difference anyway). Even the holiday considered Dec 31 wasn't any different from any of all the other 365 days of the past year, save of course the special days like Christmas and Easter, etc. We woke up late, around lunchtime, I spent the day alternating between watching TV and doing some homework on the computer, Bianca studying for some exams, and Bern doing some exercises. Very typical.
We ate food that was left over from the reunion/Christmas party we had on the 30th, and my parents even had to run errands most of the day in preparation for yet another reunion on the 7th. Around evening, we began to watch DVDs, since it's been almost traditional for us to watch movies during New Year's Eve, to stay awake while we wait.
We didn't even bother watching the fireworks outside (although our close proximity with hundreds of other houses and Paskong Pasiklab would have made our view pretty nice) because our next door neighbor was happily polluting the entire street with VERY LOUD fireworks. After several years of living beside them, we've come to realize that they're much more interested in loud fireworks instead of pretty ones. Which is a tragedy for the rest of us in the street. We actually have to close our windows to keep the thick smoke they generate from blackening our furniture. Imagine. -__- Last year we had a slightly better time. We had several packs of sparklers and my sisters and I were happily lighting them, one per each cousin, to see which cousin would die first. Some weird superstitious joke, but it was just for fun and laugh-worthy. ^^
Anyway, for our New Year's Eve snack (medya noche?) we had some pandesal and brought out everything in our fridge that we could eat with pandesal, plus some of the Sapin Sapin we had left from the party on the 30th that i mentioned earlier. We had queso de bola and hot chocolate as well. So although we had a really messy, unprepared for and very-impromptu looking snack, the table looked
pretty festive, with all the jars and what not we just grabbed from the ref and piled on the dining table. ^^ Hehehe...
And we haven't been taking pictures lately. Not for Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning, or even New Year's Eve. Which is pretty unusual, but I can confidently say is attributed to the fact that we lost our digicam lately. Big bad stroke of luck. Last year was less festive, except we really took the extra effort to snap some pictures, and currently, that particular batch is one of my favorite cellphone pics. Except the cellphone isn't mine cause my cell is still MMs INcompatible.
And although last year I was pretty sure what I wanted to achieve, and therefore pretty sure about my '05 resolution, this year just draws a blank. I dunno what I want to do and thus I don't know if I'll be able to even come up with a decent and feasible resolution. Hmm... Last year was the first time I actually kept a resolution, and I'm still pretty hooked on the idea. *

Plus, I've run out of load several days ago, which caused my lack of text responses to the greetings I've recieved for the past holidays. Sorry guys! The timing sucks, I know, and I'm really pissed myself at the inability to reply, especially when some people send really nice messages. ;_;
And I was able to catch Detective Conan on Animax, which was part of it's new year's special, I think. I like that show. It's better than that other washed up detective show with a crossed-eyed looking protagonist that I'd rather not mention.
And my cousins, sisters and I tried a Magic Sing in the last reunion. I barely summoned enough courage to finish a single song. I scored the lowest at 71, while Bern scored the highest at 97, followed by Bianca at 96. Imagine. And this Magic sing is super sensitive. It actually marks wrong notes with red, missed notes in green, late notes in blue and right notes in black. It was very sensitive and accurate. It was amazing. You even have to adjust the key if you want to sing it either higher or lower than what the original should be. It was tough. ^^
BTW, have I mentioned that I have a really bad cough?
And I have class tomorrow, sad. I have to go fix my school stuff then finish up my accumulated homework.
