There's something wrong with both my Y!M and my house's computer. @_@ I've been online since 7 in the morning, and it's getting under my nerves more and more. AAAaaarrrgh!! I was not up for an unpleasant morning. >_<
Yet another book review..
9:28 PM
May 29, 2007

I finally finished it. *Whew* This book was probably one of the more boring ones in the Pern series. Or at least that's how I felt. (sorry sig! ^_^v) It seemed longer than usual, plus they often went into detail about such things as bacteriophages, optics and other technological stuff. Eergh. I never used to feel that Pern was of the sci-fi genre, until I read this book that is. (Although come to think of it, I've always pretty much known that it was sci-fi. It just felt more like a fantasy book.) And although I had my usual issues with it, as I've had with previous McCaffrey books, after a short sms conversation with Sig, I kind of forced myself to be a little more accepting (or at least to ignore a lot of the things that bothered me if I couldn't accept it). I won't bother going into details, cause I've always found it hard to explain. ^^; The book rarely focused on some of my favorite characters, but I guess that really tends to happen in a world with so many other characters. There were also noticeable typos, (once a dragonrider's name was obviously misused for another, etc.) though I can't really fault anyone for that. ^^; But the end was a bit redeeming. I almost *
almost* teared up in the last part of the book. I guess it ended quite nicely.
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens - Ecclesiastes 3:1 (Mentioned towards the end of the book as a quote taken from the greatest book mankind has written.)

The awareness that two people are soulmates should be bilateral. If only one person believes it, it's called stalking.~~
It is an unpleasant fact of life that on the day you look fabulous, you will not run into the person who causes your pulse rate to break the sound barrier. The day you look like a troglodyte, that's when you see the person. Events conspire to present you to the beloved in the worst possible light.
Hmm... I really should get around to reading jessica zafra's books. I told myself I would after Ivan told me about the time he even joined a contest to win her latest creation. It shouldn't be so hard. I mean, I have summer classes near AS, and she has a lot of her books registered in the Filipiniana section. Tsk tsk.. I'm just too lazy to be true. -__-

Girl with the Pearl Earring
12:40 PM

I watched Girl with a Pearl Earring yesterday, starring Scarlett Johansson and Colin Firth. It was interesting. ;p Colin Firth was genius! There was this tense atmosphere around his character,
galing galing! (Though in truth we didn't know what to make of this "atmosphere", but it kept us interested.) XD The actors and actresses were good, although Bianca and I really disliked a certain character, the one we call "the butcher boy". Tsk tsk.
My interest in this movie was first roused by the fact that some org in UP was showing this movie for free when I was in 1st or 2nd year (AS days). As some friends and I had just finished attending the Casshern free showing, I was quite enthusiastic about the whole free movie thing, with the opinion that they'd only show (and discuss) good movies. :) I missed the showing, but Bianca had a friend who loved Colin Firth and obtained a copy and was ranting to her just how wonderful the whole thing was. So Bianca and I resolved that we had to watch it someday. ^_^; And the day has come. :D

Must be cause I spend more time on the computer. At times I stay glued to the computer from early afternoon to well past midnight (since my classes are in the morning). ^_^; I just love the summer. The Evangelion Version:

Don't you guys wonder how they did these? ^^;

11:19 AM
Yey! I just finished my finals yesterday! I was so happy to have the weight of 60 questions and other such things off my shoulders that I agreed to go on an instant gimmick 'far far away' in Marikina. ^^; I was really ecstatic about finishing my summer classes. Sure I made friends, and sure, the reading was a bit lighter than I expected, but it still feels great to say good-bye to
ANY subject that once in a while gives you hell. XD
If you're wondering what the 60 questions meant, it was our Finals. Our teacher handed us a list of questions and we were supposed to research each and everyone very thoroughly. Come finals day, we'd then pick a number out of a can and answer JUST ONE of the questions, which will spell the ultimate fate of our grade. @_@ Talk about information overload!!! We had to memorize a lot of things (ex. the towns we passed in our field-trip from Cavite to Tagaytay: Sto. Tomas, Tanauan, Malvar, Lipa, San Jose, Cuenca, Alitagtag, Sta. Teresita, Moson, Taal, Calaca, Nasugbu). That was a little like hell and a great relief to get out of the way. ^^;
Although I don't think I did great in the exam, come to think about it, but at least I just did ok. I think. From the expression on my teacher's face, I'm not too sure if he was impressed, and then I was so nervous, I kept breaking into a tagalog-english-tagalog speech. X_x How horrible!
But anyway, I was just so glad to have finished. I didn't pick that bad a question too, actually. So while I was in a skipping and jumping mood after my finals, I went to Katipunan

to buy myself cds, only to find out that the store is no longer open. O_o Amagad. Oh well. I've been living off Bianca's cds for the longest time, I no longer know how much cds cost and how much money I owe her. ^^; Anyway, then I met up with my mom and got to meet the little Yorkshire terrier pups of my cousins. ^^; They were so cute! One of them was so fat, she couldn't walk properly and was simply crawling about with her legs making a split. ^^
Anyway, I forgot to mention that my friends and I were treated out by the always generous Sig. <(^_^)> She even let us use her nice 2MP phone to take pics afterward. See the pics *
here* and *
here*.
*Note: My younger sister Bern looked up my multiply, and when she saw that I had 5 albums already, she looked at me and said: "I'm proud of you." ^^; Well, thank you, thank you. XD
Then Tracy and Vigile and I went to watch Shrek 3. We didn't take pics, now that I think about it. Argh. I always forget. ~_~ Anyway, we enjoyed a little videoke at Big R before the movie, and all praise and cheers for our very own Konata. ^^ Tracy sang Josh Groban's The Prayer, and did it flawlessly and amazingly, despite the fact that I was her incompetent duet partner. I swear, with my uncertain and barely-there-yet-still-managing-somehow -to-end-with-a-slight-question-mark kind of voice, alternating with her powerful and well felt voice, we were a very funny duet. Somewhere in the middle she even had to sing both our parts, and towards the end, Vigile finally took the microphone away from me. Despite the fact that she claims she didn't know the song, she prolly felt she would do better, which is probably true anyway. ^^;
Shrek was... funny. Very very funny. But the story was not that good. The plot was
too rushed. I felt my favorite characters weren't given much air time, plus they cracked a lot of pretty corny jokes (like the mocking hair extensions line. -_-) My conclusion is that they dwelt too much on certain scenes that were supposed to be funny, forgetting to dwell on scenes which would have helped improve the flow of the story. tsk tsk.
Nevertheless, there were still a lot of funny parts. Watch out for these:
-that's what friends are for
-hair flipping
-merlin and piano
-life flashes
I don't remember all the funny parts, but here are a few. I still enjoyed watching it though. And I really like Puss and Donkey. XD Especially Puss. ^^
Oh, one last thing, although I feel like gagging myself at what I'm about to say.. I was reading the English version of Noli in preparation for my exams, and I realized what a nice book it was. ^^ Maybe cause there weren't any complicated tagalog words anymore, or the pressure to finish the long chapters, or maybe cause I just chose the chapters I had to read, but I strangely found it nice. It also could be the fact that I was finally reading a novel amidst a lot of biographies and historical accounts, etc. (Actually, Bern has long been telling me that it's nicer than I give it credit for, but then again, her choice of books has always been much deeper and complicated than mine. And Vigile also kept telling me in 3rd yr how nice Fili was in English. ^^;)
I don't remember what else I have to blog about, so that's it. :D

Gen: "I WAS NOT stepping on the breaks. Hmph." *

Mom: "Oh my God!

Gen: "Ehe.. Sorry?"
3.
Going homeMom: "Ok, stop the car here, I'll drive it into the garage."
Gen: "Okay."
*car engine dies*
Mom: "What are you doing?!? Don't you know how to stop the car?!? What were you doing, just stepping on the breaks?"
Gen: "Yeah? Sorry! I don't remember. ^^;"
Mom: "YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO STEP ON THE CLUTCH!" Grawr.
It's been almost a year since I last drove a car. Forgive me for forgetting. >_< I used to be good at starting and stopping the car before. :( But anyway, I was so happy to be able to finally drive, and except for the starting, the stopping and the u-turns and stuff, I'm pretty good at keeping the car going. At least, right? XD

Big Duh. I just discovered that the seasons-link-thingy at the end of each of my posts don't work anymore. X_x Sig, Stacy and Vigile's blogs have either already moved or have been discontinued, so I've been keeping a pretty useless line of text after every post all this time. *sigh* It's a shame though. It took me a pretty sizable chunk of time to get those things there in the first place. And I'm going to miss it. T_T But there's really, I guess, no point in keeping it since we no longer use the seasons theme either. And besides, that's what the link page is for.. Even the "Another confession" line is a relic from an old lay-out. I get too attached apparently.
I'm going to miss it anyway. :(

Monster Updates
9:10 AM
Remember (again) the son of our maid? Well, he's a little monster all right. I just learned from my mom today that the kid hits and boxes his mom. 0_0 So apparently his father's wife-beating violence has rubbed off on his uneducated head. I heard my mom scolding him and his mother just now, about the fact that if he grows used to such habits, he just might go on doing it till he's a grown man and stuff. But his mom is so deeply in DENIAL. -__-
And before I go, I was watching TV this morning (my body clock is effectively synchronized to wake me up at around 8 apparently, whether or not I have classes or if I sleep super late. Anyway, I ended up watching Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and I saw an
episode (17) with a really weird friend whose head was full of eyes. He had lost his "imaginer" (I dunno how they call it), and was desperately looking for him. Unfortunately, there was a party of kids, so the gang didn't know who was THE kid. It turns out, (aww.. this is it~) that the kid they were looking for was a blind kid, hence the imaginary friend with a bazillion eyes. Aww.. TuT It was so cute and touching and awww-able. TuT
After that was done, I somehow ended up watching Inuyasha, which is weird cause I don't really watch the show anyway. ^^; The episode was about Kikiyo and Inuyasha, and I thought the episode was really sad. T-T Apparently they loved each other, she being a human and guardian of some holy stone, and he being a half demon. They were about to perform a ritual to turn him into a full human, etc., (a really big sacrifice on his part) but some other demon came and impersonated Inuyasha, almost killing Kikiyo to steal the stone. Then the demon impersonated Kikiyo and attacked Inuyasha. In the end, the two lovers, thinking the other had betrayed them, were put against each other, ending in a deep sleep for Inuyasha, and death for Kikiyo who was supposedly attacked by the guy (though till the end of the episode, they really believed that the other betrayed him/her). It's a shame, they really loved it other. T-T And when she died, it really got me to think that their love story is trully over. Which is sad, cause I've always kind of associated this pair with Kenshin and Tomoe from Samurai X, with the new girl Kagome being the equivalent of the annoying Kouru. And of course, till the end I was a Tomoe supporter. XD

Chapter 1: Grudges to take you to hell
I didn't realize that burning data DVDs can take forever. About more than 30 minutes per CD. @_@ So I had about 7 CDs to burn, and a lot of time to kill. Tsk. So while I was staring at the laggy computer as it did what it had to do, Bianca started watching Hell Girl/Jigoku Shoujo. At first, I was totally unimpressed by the fact that the same thing kept happening over and over. And then the episodes started to change, somewhat. There was one where the person who logged on was the evil one, therefore she was sent to hell, one where a person actually confessed to her sins, one where a person who contracted earlier finally died and was collected, and most shockingly, 3 where good people were forced into hell. T_T And then, a storyline is developing too. The anime is no longer segmented per episode, but a continuous story, involving a psychic kid and a journalist. Hmm. Getting quite interesting. Plus the actual grudge stories are improving. :D
We didn't get to finish the series (though I think we're halfway?) and I didn't finish my data burning because it was already past midnight. @_@ Tired~

So when I fell asleep, I found myself in an alternate reality where the Hell Girl exists,
in our world. There I was in UP, fuming with rage, frustration and anger over something/someone that/who really exists (but everything was WAY exaggerated). 0_o I think at some point in the dream I was so angry, I almost burst into tears, and was finally (I think) marked with the funky hell girl tatoo, meaning I had sent someone to hell. 0_0 Freaky. I didn't like it at all. Not only did I feel the misery some deep hatred and shame, I also felt the horror of those people in the anime who were forced to send people to hell. X__x I didn't like it one bit and I'm so glad it isn't real. T_T
Chapter 2: National ElectionsThere are times when I painfully feel how much it sucks not to be a registered voter. I've been recently getting well-acquainted with the who's-who of the senate race, and have participated in TWO mock elections already. So much so that I kind of want to vote for real, considering some of the candidates I like are a bit in danger of losing, while some I don't care much for just might win. Eck. And unlike the previous elections, where I pretty much felt like I'd rather not vote ANYONE, this time, I actually kind of want to lend a hand to our democratic system. Hm. My PI100 class' nationalism must really be rubbing off on me. ^_^;
Chapter 3: Anime and Doramas that Rock
Sig made me watch a lot of new series last week. I'm starting to feel the "So many things to do, so little time" phenomenon. ^^; That's on top of my new and old downloads, my new and old books, old and new DVDs, etc., etc. But then again, it's always best not to run out. XD This week, I intend to bust into Sig's house and force her to let me watch
Liar Game! XD Check it out too, along with the
Tracy anime. (Guess why we call it that? XD)
Chapter 4: The Play Sangalan ng Anak

The play was at 7 pm-9pm, and I had to commute since my mom was still in her angry mood. All the while I kept thinking:
"This play SHOULD be good. >:( Or else.. Grr.."Anyway, I've never watched a play in UP before, so I was a bit surprised to see people from different ages participating in the play. Some were really old, and some were really young. But I guess that's how it is. ^^;
The play was nice. It made me think: "I should really watch more plays. Tsk tsk." It even had a lot of quotable quotes. Considering I'm not very sensitive to such things (not as much as Vigile, probably, who finds and underlines them in almost every book she reads, or even Aji, who texts them to people after finding them in TV shows) .
The play didn't have any amazing and heart-stopping twists or surprises, but the story was not at all typical. Plus I didn't expect a lot of things, and the acting was really really good. The troupe was obviously very into acting. I gave them all a pretty hearty applause. ^^
All in all, I liked the play, save for the fact that I was positioned between some girls who were obviously fan-girls of some actor in the play. -_- They kept enumerating what previous roles they've seen who in and they even managed to spoil the ending for me. Thanks a lot whoever you are. -_- And on my right, a mother and son tandem were seated, mumbling something about "texting Erap, etc." I was a bit surprised, I mean, it couldn't possibly be THE Erap, but then the son says: "Is Erap allowed to have a cellphone?" Plus they were holding some check. Hmm... Curious. Definitely curious.
Chapter 5: Jeepney ridesWell, when the play ended, I commuted home. And in the jeep, a bunch of people who didn't know each other started talking amongst themselves about the play. (It's amazing how sociable some people are. 0_o) It started with a humble: "So did you guys like the play?" until they were pretty much discussing their life story. 0_0 Their dreams, their plans to shift, what course, where they want to works after, their hobbies.
Grabe. No joke. That's what they were talking about. It totally amazed me how a bunch of strangers can suddenly make friends that quickly with each other. Their luck I suppose. ^^;
Another weird jeepney ride happened as I was on my way to school last Friday morning. (I've been commuting to school since Friday morning, when my mom's angry mood started. Menopause sucks. -_-) The jeepney driver was overly talkative, telling us all about how foreigners stop a jeep when they want to get down (with an overly loud shout, I hear) and how we Filipinos, by contrast resort to knocking on the jeepney ceiling, sometimes barely heard (which is what one passenger did to make the driver start the lecture in the first place). He went on and on about how we were going to progress in this world if we never speak up. Hearing the words
pag-unlad and stuff (a usual lecture I hear in class) from a jeepney driver was pretty interesting. Plus he said it all in a cheerful and joking manner, so much so that all of his passengers had to grin at his persistence. (It was a long speech too. It was still going on when I had to get down).
Chapter 6: Field Trip!
Yes! This is it, the first field trip I've ever attended in my apparently uneventful college life. XD Although truth be told, I wasn't really looking forward to it since it seemed overly tiring and info-overload-ish (it consisted of a lot of stops, about 3 historical houses, 3 churches and some burial sites at least) turns out it was a lot more fun than I expected, since my groupmates are total "camwhores" and stuff. XD
Unfortunately, due to the fact that my phone was less than 2Megapixels, we barely employed it in our "photo shoots". Hence, I have very little pics to show you. Maybe some other time when my groupmates have uploaded the pics taken with their 3 MP phones and digital cameras. ^^; At one point, we were so engrossed in taking pictures of ourselves that we didn't realize that the rest of the class was heading back to the bus and we still had not looked around the Mabini Shrine. ^_^ Oops.. We took a quick look than ran for it, although we still took pictures anyway while "running for it". Hehe..
Anyway, here's the lowdown on our stops:
1. Rizal's Home in Calamba
2. Mabini's Home and Shrine
3. Melchora Agoncillo's Home in Taal
4. Leon Apacible's Home
5. The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Caysasay
6. Sta. Lucia Church Ruins
7. The ?? (biggest catholic church in Asia) - sorry I forgot. ^^;
We had to take out an entire city from our planned stops since we didn't have time left, thank goodness, cause we got back to UP at around 9 already. Call time that morning was 7 am, so I was already up and commuting at around 6. Any later then 9pm, considering I still had to commute home, would have reduced me to a trembling blob of tired jello. @_@
But I liked the houses. :) I thought some of them were really pretty, and despite the creepy furniture, I kind of liked the the architecture. Maybe, when I grow up, I'll build my house with a stairway like Rizal's house. ^^ I didn't like their walls though, but the open airiness was nice, and the fact that, unlike most houses today, the 1st floor didn't seem too far from the 2nd floor. ^^;
Well, the bus trip was okay too. We were made to watch really a lot of movies, some really old one too. The first one, Internal Affairs was so old, their computers monitors only showed a pitch black screen with boxy green letters. -__- Plus it was action too. The second was good, Pirates of the Caribbean 2, followed by MouseHunt (so-so movie). The last we watched was The Gods Must Be Crazy. @_@ Crazy movie. At first I thought it was a documentary or something, but in a way, i thought it was interesting. ^^; They explored some new perspectives, like those of the bushmen (natives), which I found really interesting.
I really pitied one of the bushmen when he was put in a prison cell. At first he was put on trial, and when he was first brought into the court room, he saw that there were a lot of people so he smiled at them and none of them smiled back. T_T He didn't understand our language, and we didn't understand his. Then he was put in jail cause he didn't know there was such a thing as private property. His translator said bushmen were simple people and didn't have a concept of walls and have never seen them before, and now he's trapped in them. He would surely die. T_T And then they showed him, looking out at the tiny patch of sky through his window, just staring at it all day, not eating or understanding what was happening. T_T Sad.. But it was, overall, supposed to be a funny movie I think, so the translator was able to work out something for him.
Anyway, I'm losing track of my thoughts. Back to my field trip. XD I didn't buy any pasalubong cause I barely had money left (^^;), plus my favorite treats were unavailable. Oh well, it's nobody's funeral. ^^;
*Oh yeah, by coincidence, my seatmate and I happened to be seated on seat no. 21 and 22 in the bus. Nice coincidence. ^^;
Chapter 7: Grocery Help
Well, remember one of our maids and her little son? Well, apparently my mom is furious at that particular maid for spoiling her son. At our expense. 0_0 Her son only eats mangoes with rice for all his meals, but he drinks juice and Milo "every second", to quote my mom. So when they went to the market, my mom instructed this maid to buy only 1 kilo of mangoes, but then she goes and buys THREE kilos, for her son to eat. Plus, we quickly ran out of Milo and juice and other snacks because her son eats it all the time.
So in an act of desperation, my mom decided to drag me off to the grocery with her today, instead of this maid (our other maid just gave birth, so she's stuck at home). Hehe... And here's the happy tale that followed. >:)

Since she took me, bonafide junk-food -and-sweets -addict and 1/2 of the goddesses of food abundance duo, she had to make do with the fact that every time we passed a rack of such "unhealthy food", I'd grab one or two packs of something. XD According to my mom's systematic way of piling groceries in the cart, junk food is usually given the measly bit of space at the end of the cart were kids/babies usually sit. If you look at the picture, you'll see how I stuffed it to the extreme (a pack actually fell out once or twice ^^;). But hey! I already opted not to buy a lot of the other things I saw. Hehe...
I also noticed the following:

Interesting huh? First time in my life I've ever seen such a sign. ^^;
So the question remains, will my mom ever take my to do groceries again? To be fair, I wasn't all that terrible a companion. My mom was amazed at my wonderful (ahem..) canvassing and money-saving skills. XD Apparently, I'm really good at finding the cheapest alternative of some things, which the maids never do, thus bringing down our grocery bill a bit. XD But then again, the junk food was an overwhelming turn off. ^^; Oh well, there's always my sisters, who are also good at spotting cheaper alternatives, and are more into healthy eating than I am. Bahala. XD

Book Review Again.
10:58 PM
May 08, 2007
Of course you'll have to endure this, and more in the future, considering I've been buying a lot of books lately. So, sit back and take it. Who knows, you just might enjoy it. XD

Now, obviously this isn't my type of book, but a couple of well-read people insisted that it was great, so I decided to give it a try. Well-read people with interesting taste that is.
So to make the long story short, I gave it a shot, although considering the look of it, I admit I started with all the skepticism of the world. But I guess this skepticism made the book seem better, since the book turned out to be admittedly funny, and I wasn't expecting much so my defenses were all down. ^^; I rarely read books that really make me laugh, and although at times I had to wonder why the characters seemed to give more emphasis on romantic relationships than friendly ones, it was still interestingly written most of the time. The author used a lot of unusual analogies, and funny scenarios. And to top it all of, the lead guy has an IQ in the top 99th percentile, plus he's an artist and a very weird and funny character. *nods approvingly* And the lead character herself isn't really love-crazy. She's a bit delusional about some things, which makes everything funnier. And although it took a while to absorb and get into the language, it gets better afterward. No exciting twists or revelations, though. Just a light-read book with an easy-to-get-through language. Well, it was worth a couple of laughs. A good contrast to the dreary life of Rizal. ^^; And I occasionally look for such light-reads especially after studying and putting up with heavy lit. The contrast is good for unwinding the brain. :D Not for guys though. XD
Berserk Day
2:08 PM
This morning started out all wrong. I was busy trying to cram my notes into my Rizal-saturated brain for our 2nd exam (2 down 1 to go!) when my mom comes into my room and starts nagging me about cleaning it. With only 30 crucial minutes left to the exam, I was not in the mood for such a talk. She goes on about how she never asks us to do anything, and what little she asks (cleaning up for instance) we don't even do. The night before, I lost several hours of studying as well, coz she insisted I clean up the study room. ME. Why me? I have an exam in the morning. Argh..
Moving on. Quite recently, the little 5-yr old son of our maid moved into our house with his mom, much like Vigile's Jai-jai (or is it Jay-jay?). I never particularly liked kids, but then I find out that this kid has been kicking around our fragile little pinscher. XO Amagad. He kicks the poor dog and laughs all happily about it after. Rawr! I mean, our little dog is so sweet tempered too, once she is familiar with your scent that is, which takes about an hour. She never cries even when you step on her. So when one day, I was studying and suddenly Twinky breaks into a long agonized cry, you know something must be up. And I mean, she was really crying. For a whole solid minute. 0___0 And these days, I catch her limping every now and then. Grrr... If the world weren't a civilized place, and people had no conscience and no morals and what not existed (and today being my berserk day), I probably would have screamed at that kid. (Although I'm not really sure if I can scream as loud as I'd like despite my loud voice.) I mean, talk about cruelty. That kid is too cruelty for such a young age. >_< And his mom doesn't even scold him about it, since she loves him too much. I guess that's what will happen to a kid with a dad who maltreats the mother. He becomes spoiled, being the only person in the world his mom will love and turn to, plus he learns all the violence and cruelty of his dad. Arrgh. He needs discipline! Discipline!
And, well, I was pretty much fuming all morning. I don't remember the other reasons, although some include the horrible exam which asked what DAY (of the week) Rizal was born, and what district Luneta belonged to, and what school was under the Recollect order of priests. As if they even discussed it in class. ~_~ Modern day obscure trivia should not be the basis of grading in a history class. Argh.
And the cd of our web cam is missing. Grr.. How annoying. ~_~
Plus, to top it off, some person was complaining about their allowance, saying it was so small, yada yada, that they have to resort to riding the tricycle sometimes, etc. And so I ask, how much IS their allowance anyway? Turns out that their weekly allowance is a little less than DOUBLE my own weekly allowance. Whaaa~? Did you say small? Do you want me to whack you senseless? 0___o
Sound Card trouble

May 07, 2007
We had our hard drive upgraded, because it turns out one of our computers has a broken hard drive, so we had to buy a new one, etc. Since our main computer has long been subsisting on a measly 18G hard drive, we decided to have the new 80G drive installed here and the 18G put into the broken computer. Works out fine right? Wrong. Apparently, the sound card CD is missing, so now our computer doesn't have any sound whatsoever. *sigh* Just like vigile's old computer before it broke down for good. Tsk tsk. But I have to hand it to this desktop PC, it's been around since I was in grade school, so it's quite the survivor. ^^;
Now we can't watch any of our new downloads. *sobs*
Summer Madness
11:46 AM
I bought 2 more books again today! Waah.. I just can't resist books on sale. X_x Bad bad gen. But I figure, I won't buy books as often when school starts anyway. And France is really going through all my books like water down the drain. I think this is all she pretty much does in Bicol, alone with no other kids around, no cable, etc. I lent her around 6 books, and already, she's been texting me to lend her more, which I am to send through her brothers who'll be arriving in Bicol sometime next week(?). So all in all, a lot of people actually benefit from the books I buy. :D
I was also torn between other titles, such as Persuasion and Remains of the Day. But again, I figured I'd just borrow the latter from Vigile and regret not buying it later on if it turns out to be super nice. (Just like what happened to Vigile and our dearest Rule of Four). So I have to stay away from the bookstore until then, in case I lose my resolve and finally buy the book. @_@
WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME??? WHY DO I HAVE THIS IRRATIONAL DESIRE TO BUY THINGS THESE DAYS???? AM I NOT SUPPOSEDLY THE STINGIEST PERSON IN THE KADA??? WHAT'S HAPPENING???
Blog Hopping~ Part 2
12:13 AM

I saw these dolls on Vigile's blog, so I decided to dig up my own doll. She was created early August of last year, so she doesn't have the fancy background Vigile's dolls have. But I think she looks fine. At least I think she looks like me. :) Down to the super messy hair, the eye bags, and toothy grin. XD Enjoy!
Also, we had a little gimmick today, just me, Tracy and Vigile. The pictures will be uploaded in our multiply accounts. :) We had fun, most the the day was filled with picture taking, in the effort to revive Tracy and my multiply accounts. XD See our wacky-ness~

I was reading Vigile's blog this morning, and to my shock came across the words "must do this summer list". Wow. I don't have such a thing this summer. I usually make such a list, but this summer started off a little too early (I was in summer mode already during Finals week) and as such, the busy schedule that accompanied my early summer feeling prevented such a list from being conceived.
And so during those dark days of Finals week, I was left with the vague (and hopeless) idea of a sublime summer full of lazing around all day watching all the DVDs that have accumulated at home and reading books and playing computer games that I've never had time for. What can I say? I was then a very preoccupied student seeking humble recreation. XD
Well, I also went to Mia's blog. Seems like she got into a car accident with only a minor dent on her CRV. CRV! CRV! I bumped our car into a post (and it wasn't even that hard of a hit) and I pretty much crushed our bumper and ruined our tail lights. -_- The damage was so bad it affected the back doors of the car. I need a heavy duty SUV. My dream car, believe it or not, has been a Pajero since my early high school days, and its durability and toughness is certainly keeping me a fan. But now I'm widening my horizon and am signing up as a general SUV fan. XD I know I'm weird, but forgive me. I'm nurturing a growing bitterness for my increasing inability to drive. >_<
And I've noticed that both Ivan and Levs haven't been updating their blogs since they started their internship. Hmm. I guess in a way it's a good thing I didn't take an internship. I got to update my blog, got to enjoy my vague summer plans, and on top of it all, I got to take PI, so as to lighten my semestral load. ^^; Not that PI is turning out to be a blast. The exact opposite actually. We keep having these quizzes. I scored a 3/10 just last Thursday. Erk.
I also visited Kimmy's blog. And remembered Chopper. u___u May he rest in peace/good hands.
And for old times sake, I visited Sig's blog. At least her tagboard is still up and running, despite the spammers. ^^; Hehe.. I like her last entry. It really makes me laugh. Plus the line that the era of discord is over. Sig writes well. Too bad she's giving up her blog. *hint hint* hehe.. just kidding sig. ^^;
And lastly, I visited the Phoenix Pendant, just to see if it's still up and running. I've been vigilantly keeping the link here in my blog, so I decided to visit it again. And so I was hit by a pleasant wave of nostalgia. What happened to this? And to our constant determination to finish the story we knew we might never finish. *sigh*
What Phoenix Pendant character are you?
You are Celeste. Laconic and perceptive, this probably stems from a childhood where you were forced to grow up faster than what is natural. You feel your difference keenly at times and this makes you withdrawn from most companies. You are often seen as a loner and you don't mind this. To others, you might seem to be in your own little world often but actually, you know a lot of what's going on around you. You can be a really good friend if you wanted to.Take this quiz! Which reminds me, I was thinking of making such a blog/site. Not alone of course. But I dunno if I'll ever push through. Hehe.. The lazy often come up with great plans that never see the light. Tsk tsk.
And I discovered that I'm the only remaining blog linked to the Phoenix Pendant. Interesting. I wonder if battle realms is even alive anymore. As a game, I mean. ^^; The old high school days.. Its hard to imagine that over 6 years has passed since the Phoenix was first conceptualized. ^_^
Ten attempts later...

Resizing this blog was a lot harder than I thought. @_@ I didn't realize that my photobucket account resized the original picture, so when I loaded a new one, the buttons and windows were all over the place. Aaaargh... They didn't even resize the picture similarly. @_@ Aaamagaad.
Anyway, Tracy hinted at the possibility of having a gimmick tomorrow, that is, if Kimmy agreed. Well, she wasn't available, plus Stacy couldn't come and we couldn't contact selda again, so it didn't push through. *sigh* I got my hopes up too early. Tsk tsk. *And Sig, if you're wondering why you weren't informed, it's simply cause we wanted to confirm with the others first before telling you, since you told tracy you wanted everyone present for our next gimmick. Sorry. Everything was tentative, so we didn't inform you YET. Sorry. :(*
And I have a mysterious visitor U. Hmm.. A batchmate probably? After all, whoever it was was asking about a subject I took last sem. ^^; But then, where and how did they find my blog? Hmm. Very curious.
And I'm really starting to enjoy Prince of Tennis. XD I felt like playing tennis today. XD The show is very inspiring. I even researched some of their moves, if they really existed and everything, and they do. ^^ Amazing.

..is starting to drive me crazy. A not-in-the-good sense kind of crazy. More like the irritated, agitated, frustrated kind. >_< It reminded me of an old lay-out of vigile's that also drove me crazy. The one with a tiny green window that made a short blog entry seem like a term paper in length. @_@
Haaay.. I've learned my lesson. I should never make such narrow iframes. Everything feels so crammed. I'll fix it this weekend. Mark my words. >_<

New Plan..
3:55 PM
Maan. That's the second time this month that my phone let me down.
I had my phone checked some time ago after several months of speaker malfunction that prevented me from making calls or anything on my phone. Apparently, there's something irreparably wrong with its circuitry, and i would be better off "buying a new phone instead of having it fixed". But after they returned it, my phone started working again, so all was forgotten. And then early this month it suddenly conked out and went dead. It started working again soon, only to break down again this week.
The weird thing is, it fails but gets better within the day, as though nothing were wrong with it. But it's getting too frequent, so I decided I'd sell my phone before it dies for good. Grawr. I'm not sure it even lasted a year with me yet. >_<
grawr~ I'm gonna be so dirt-poor after this! >_<
Bad Day

May 02, 2007
I woke up this morning to a text message bearing the message that a good friend was now hatefully mad at me. Then, as I was about to rush off to school, my phone completely conked out, and wouldn't turn on despite my having changed batteries with my sisters. So I go off to school with a borrowed phone which hasn't been charged since it was last used, with the clear agreement that my mom would drop by at 11 to pick me up, whether or not I contacted her. So I got to class, scored low in a quiz, then went off to wait for my mom. As predicted, my borrowed phone ran out of batteries while I was in class, but luckily, I was able to start it for a short while to text my mom. Apparently, she didn't get the text any way, and it wasn't till I called later on that she remembered that she had to fetch me. She forgot. -_- While I was waiting, I decided to stop by the book stand, hoping to find a particular book that the owner assured me they always had on sale. Always. When I got their, the owner was singing a new story, that the particular book was really hard to find, so good luck trying. Thank you for raising my hopes up all week. -_- So anyway, I came home starving, they set out food for me, but cleared it up even before I could eat it. -_- How weird the world works today.
