I was rolling about the world of my friends' blogs and ljs again. At one point I came across Trina's LJ and picked up the following points of interest:
*8 rules for fiction writing
*"Reading newspaper is a passive way to obtain information just like watching TV is. It contains what they want you to know not what you want to know. Newspapers are for those who do not know what they really want to know. The funny thing is that when you read it, you are convinced that it is exactly what you wanted to know." -(From 3na's book of quotes where she scribbles down striking verses)
*"My psychic told me I'm psychic" -House (Gen: I love House. XD)
*“I love sleep. My life has the tendency to fall apart when I'm awake, you know?” -Ernest Hemingway
Hope you don't mind that I ripped off your some our your entries. You have a nice lj kasi. :p
Unbelievable.

Thursday afternoon. A McDonald's counter lady
actually denied my request for more ketchup. 0__0 I didn't know that was even possible, or allowed. I had just finished giving my order and was about to take my tray to my table, when I remembered to ask for extra ketchup (as anyone who's ever seen me eat a pack of fries on my own knows, I consume quite an admirable amount of ketchup). The lady actually said no, and that they actually have a one-is-to-one policy with regard to ketchup giving. etc. 0__o Yeah right. And then when one of my companions asked another staff member for ketchup, the request was willingly obliged. -_- Hmph. Very accommodating.

Thursday evening. I was up late trying in vain to answer this rather difficult question for my accounting class the next morning. With the combined effort of a tired, number-congested mind and the lack of sleep from previous nights, I got myself stuck at this certain problem, which I strangely knew (and I just knew..) that I would be called on to answer. (I was already imagining what I'd say, the excuses, the pleas..)
The quandary was in the fact that the variable cost (which in theory should be multiplied to the units of production) was given already multiplied. So in my sleepiness, I was multiplying 100,000 units of production to the given variable cost of 140,000 , getting as a result a figure way to large to make sense given the problem, till I eventually figured out that 1.4 was the variable cost, not 140,000. 0_0
So after losing sleep on that, I retired and my insomnia kicked in, keeping me awake till the wee hours of the morning with mortifying images of some cooking disaster which should never, in theory, have the power to keep anyone awake as it did to me. >_< *if you want a more elaborate description of the disaster, ask me in person. I have no intention of mortifying people in this blog unless they wish to be mortified.
Friday morning. I was barely awake and for some nature-defying reason, my teacher DOES call on me to recite that exact same number I dreaded (though I had finally figured it out) to answer. I could barely read the numbers I had written on the board. Gawd. My teacher had to ask me to explain twice, and one of my classmates remarked that I seemed 'lost'. 0_o
I knew I was psychic. :p

Got this from stacy's blog:
UP Film Institute
July 2 (Thu)
2:00 PM Shangri-la
5:00 PM Out of this World
7:00PM Blue Spring
July 3 (Tue)
2:00 PM Blue
5:00 PM Inochi
7:00PM Kamikaze Girls
July 4 (Wed) 7:00 PM Hotel Hibiscus
July 5 (Thu)
2:00 PM Harmful Insect
5:00 PM No One’s Ark
7:00PM The Stars Converge
The other schedules are for CCP and Shangri-la Plaza, so I decided not to include them in this post. ;P Let's watch one of these films! Come on people! Just like before, then we can go head to cello's or Grill Queen something after. XD I looked up the films on the internet, and most have a pretty good rating and good reviews:
Shangri-la - Revenge. pero nice daw. I dunno if I want to watch this though. 0_0
Out of this World - joe odagiri is in this(guy in shinobi XD). about post war japan and a group of guys (they're a band) trying to make it in the Japanese music industry. Each guy has a story and a reason for trying to make it in the industry.
Blue Spring - nice daw... all-boy school gang story, each with his side/background story, etc. Violent, and often compared to Battle Royale.
Inochi - aww.. "live long enough to hear him say my name." sad in a touching kinda way. Girl gets preggy with some married guy and so an ex-bf who's dying of cancer agrees to help her. But i have a feeling this is gonna end very sadly. 0_0 For some strange reason, I was reminded of axyll and deepscar, in that Deepscar will take care of axyll's son even though it's not his, etc. XD
Kamikaze Girls - comedy-drama about 2 girls who are so different - nice and really funny, with a super nice soundtrack! A review mentioned that the only bad thing about it was its US name: Kamikaze girls. XD
Hotel Hibiscus - so~so. family comedy.
Harmful Insect - psychological isolation of a young girl. might be interesting
No One’s Ark - :( - depressing ata... ends in failure for the lead characters...
The Stars Converge - jap girl meets korean guy, the two hit it off and decide to meet again the next year, same event. As things would have it, the said event was cancelled...
Blue - lesbian drama... i think. 0_0
Let's watch something~
Dead Wednesday!
1:40 PM
One of the things I love most about UP are the dead wednesdays. :D When you have *little* to do so you find yourself surfing the net, napping till noon and finally taking that well deserved break. I love the fact that our Wednesdays are no-class-days, and I severely pity those that have to go to class for lack of a better schedule. :( When we all start working, I doubt we'll ever get to enjoy this weekly *blissful* break from work, so let's all enjoy it as much as we can. XD
My days have been quite busy. Between classes, scurrying around for copies of our obscure text books, reading for the next class, coordinating with sister's schedules, orgs and group work, I barely have time to take a breather before I'm up again, burning calories on stress. So much so that as soon as I get home and change out of my school clothes, I tiredly fall on my bed and sleep till guilt at neglecting my school work unconsciously wakes me up. ^^; What a life. Tsk.
But i have to give some of my classes some credit, my teachers are pretty good. Well, at least about 2-3 of them. My marketing prof is interesting enough that I barely notice the time during his class, a big rarity for me. And my operations prof is cool as well. She handed out CDs of all our lectures so we wouldn't need a book. Big savings! *kaching!*
And in fact, I only have 5 classes this sem, quite a big change (despite the fact that these 5 still constitute a hefty 19 units). And I barely have org obligations this sem! XD I couldn't help but feel relief when I listed down member, member, member across my orgs when asked about my different org affiliations and positions I hold in them. XD (although I have to admit that despite being a member, I still get ordered around by *some* orgs. >_<)
And I just noticed, my blogger is all in Filipino! XD It's funny to see "nagse-save" instead of saving, or "pagpapaskil" instead of posts, "lumabas" instead of log-out, "lumikha" instead of create, "tingnang muli" instead of preview, "marami pa" instead of more and of course, "etiketa" instead of tags.
Panalo! XD But I noticed, we really can't do away with taglish can we? It's so embedded in how we speak that we don't care to translate so many things any more, hence the written taglish I guess.
And once again, I miss hanging out with my HS friends, and soon, I'll miss hanging out with my cousins as well. A busy academic life really takes its toll on free (gimmick) time. Tsk. Oh well. When I find time, watch out! Rawr~!
And why don't I miss my cousins yet? Cause I hung out with them last Father's day weekend, in TriNoma, no less! It's so nice there, I wanna keep coming back. XD I invited Sig and Vig to come, but they didn't seem up to it, so no matter. Maybe next time. :) It was fun roaming around, and it was such a pretty mall. XD
Well, must get back to the *little* school work I mentioned earlier. *cough cough* Is it obvious that I'm procrastinating the day away? ^_^
School has started..

Though I hope to be able to blog every now and then, when I can squeeze spare time out of my appaling semestral load. *hopeful*

9:05 PM
So I wasn't able to blog on
that day. Grr... I planned to, but certain events contrived to divert my attention to insignificant things that wrecked my plans for
that day. I'll be more careful next time.
So anyway, what is up with me? Hmm..
~I slipped on the wet Sarte garage several days ago and have since been experiencing extreme back pains that hinder much running or other quick movements.
~School starts tomorrow and at a much earlier time than I've been accustomed to these past few semesters. I wonder how I'll survive. Mystery teacher, suicidally difficult subject, early early morning, insomnia.. It's all a bad bad mix. X_x
~I watched Federer play for the first time in Roland Garros the other day. And the first set I ever watched him play seems to be the first set he dropped since I dunno when. @_@ I was just looking at the newspapers that morning, reading about how Federer broke some record about the most consecutive sets won, only to see his first dropped set against Robredo. -_- Sad coincidence.
~Tracy and I spent Thursday (or was that Friday) together, we were supposed to watch Meet the Robinsons that day, but instead we spent the day filming SIM2 videos. It was so fun. XD Hehe.. Tracy better finish that music video, or we'd have wasted the day and the movie watching for nothing.
I don't wanna go to school yet! T____T Waaah!
The Grand Plan
2:38 PM
June 02, 2007
*note: it's not just "the grand plan", it's "
the grand plan".
MY 4-PART SCHEME TO OFFICIALLY START DRIVING*and I mean really driving to places, not just practice driving around the subdivision. -_-
1. Get my dad to lift my driving ban. I wrecked the car last year, but it wasn't entirely my fault, everyone concedes to that. This part is also perhaps the simplest. With my 17yr old cousin Rob driving about town already, my dad can scarcely deny me this right.
2. Reread my driving book. This is to refresh the now practically dead memory of how to start a car, how to brake properly, and stopping. Theory is, I know, not as valuable as practice, but since I know it already, this will simply serve to wake up past know-how. ^^;
3. Practice Driving. This entails the joint efforts of myself and my also learning sisters, so it's simply a matter of timing. And available gasoline. Thank goodness we have car insurance so we don't have to worry about those accidents. This is where what I've read is practiced to perfection. Hopefully.
4. Somehow convince my parents that they're too tired to drive to Zambales next summer. Then ask for my sisters and myself to take over. This is the trickiest and hardest part, but if we do number 3 sufficiently enough, this just might do the trick. And the accomplishment of this task will ensure my parents that my sisters and I can handle driving regularly.
~~
I've accomplished #1, and if everything goes according to plan, I'll be driving by 5th year. Hehe.. Too bad my friends will have all graduated by then. Oh well. Still, better start now or it's never. -_-
