Yay! Our computer has been reformatted and we've finished going through all the routine installations of programs like Firefox, and whatnot. The PC's finally virus free again! :D In case you haven't heard, our computer has been suffering from all sorts of maladies, including a printer virus that makes our printer print only smiley faces (and this was proven to be a virus, since reformatting cured this problem right off), web pages that have to be left overnight to load (this was a true killer X_x), among other problems. We had a hell of a hard time. But it's all fixed. WOohoo!!

And so I'm blogging. Finally. Prepare yourself for another novel of an entry, cause I've got a LOT of things to rant and write about. (I have a list. :p) Unfortunately though, I neglected to write down exactly when these soon-to-be-mentioned instances took place, due to the fact that I was under a strange state of nervous restlessness, the circumstances of which I will later explain. Though in retrospect, I think it COULD have been this exact restlessness that prompted me to write the list in the first place. @_@ Whee~

Academically disinclined?

Hwaah~ I'm more than 12 chapters delayed in my readings. And I'm going crazy. Why do most of my subjects have to be so reading-intensive? Argh. I was never the type to devote all my waking hours to studying text books. I AM a procrastinator, and it's proving to be a sure fire instrument of my academic doom. Gawd. My attention span has always been pretty short. It's been the diagnosed cause (diagnosed by a professor no less) of my extremely slow reading speed, whether with fictional or academic books, and the more I study, the more my mind FEELS that it has to wander. At least I'm still competitive enough to not want to go through the utter humiliation of failure. Must hang on! Grr.. Must...

Teacher Feature

In a previous post I mentioned that I was happy with some professors of mine, and it turns out that some are just as bad. In the spectrum of horrible to great, I'd say both ends were covered. T_T It's a shame, cause I think these bad teachers are most likely very good people at heart, they just either don't communicate well, or get too easily rattled. I've never been quite as confused with any of my previous subjects before. My professor clearly doesn't read the book before hand (cause s/he teaches things which WE, the students, have to point out is totally different from the book, in which case the topic is left hanging till the next meeting. But we still have to go on, so we do, but with wide gaping HOLES in our lecture. And this happened 3 consecutive times already). And considering the lecture lasts 3 hours each period, our learning curves are most likely reduced to nothing. Bleh.

But before I leave the topic, back to the cool professor. It turns out that he is also a Palanca awardee for a short story (gasp!), and he worked for Peugeot here in the Philippines. He's currently editor(-in-chief?) of some PC magazine, and is currently asking for student-contributed articles, with a very attractive article fee of course. At syempre kaming mga pobre ay interesado naman. ;)

Cousin News
For the cousins, lola has been in the hospital for over almost 2weeks now, due to Pneumonia. Hopefully she'll be able to get out soon. We haven't visited her, cause I have a cold, and the doctor advises against such visits, cause lola might catch a cold and get worse. :(

And France, while walking around a mall(?) was approached by some person and given a calling card. She was being picked-out by some talent scout. Haha.. The person wanted to be her "agent". We laughed and teased her about it. A lot. Though considering Angel Locsin was discovered the same way (grocery, talent scout, etc.), it was funny anyway. And she wouldn't admit it too. I only found out through Rob. ;p

Driving in August
My mom, tired of driving around when we need a car, has declared that she is sick and tired of it and has imposed a new rule: Either we start driving in August or we commute all the time, no matter how late, no matter the weather, etc. So i've picked up the driving book and am once again learning the forgotten basics. 1 month left! >_<>:P I'm don't want to come home with a badly damaged car ever again, and besides, I like big cars. (My dream car when I was a kid used to be a pajero. ^^; And surprise! That became Vigile's car.) But then Bern wants those small puny cars that (I just bet) would easily get crushed in an accident. Like a Jazz or some of those weird looking variety of cars. Plus she claims she should get the car rights most of the time due to the fact that she's in Ateneo. *hmph* That hardly seems fair. It's like getting penalized for studying in UP. :(

Org-gasmorg
And once again, I had to face yet another appointment for an org I wasn't sure I could do much for. Gaack.

And some person I really dislike, who I thought would be graduating and leaving me at peace (finally!), has NOT yet graduated. Grr.. After he put me through org-work-hell last sem?? Using his "thesis and graduating status" as an excuse?!? Rawr.. >:S ~Though it turns out I'm not the only one irritated with him.

And it annoys me that I insisted on being a member of this particular committee, to avoid a certain committee, only to be dumped back into the committee I tried so hard to get away from. :( Can't they get a clue?

What annoys me even more are the hypocrites who act so high and mighty, trying to impress others, only to turn back on their word when these people aren't around. Some guy *grr* was acting just like so during last sem's interview week, saying stuff like: "Bubuhayin natin 'tong org natin! Magiging active tayo! Ipapakita natin na iba tayo.. blah blah..Magpromise ka ha. Ano promise? Promise?" and then making me promise (cause aside from the officers, I was the only other person in the room) that I would be active and I'd do my best to support the org and whatnot, like he intended to do. Now, I didn't want to make a promise I wasn't sure I could keep, so I ended up being annoyed and embarrassed (though I said yes, and am currently keeping the promise as best as I can), while he ended up looking like a hero, though in the end, he didn't keep his own da*n promise. Dinamay pa ako! Nagpapasikat lang sya sa interviewer nya! Guy pa naman din yun. (Wonder if he's gay?) Grr.. Hypocrite.

Pyramid Schemes
I've been receiving calls from "US based companies looking for hard-working people to hire part-time." Except mysteriously, they won't tell you what it's about, where they got your name, what the company does, etc. You just have to attend this orientation, and they really have a ton of reasons to prevent you from saying no. Suspicious. So I did a little poking about, and it turns out Bong did some prior poking about (cause the person has the contact numbers of my entire MC batch, so I thought to ask Bong) and she found that Kevin, the CE President, actually attended one of the orientations. Pyramid schemes. Tsk tsk. Annoying. Twice they called me in the middle of class. And I've learned not to answer. It's not only wasting my time, but it's also annoying me excessively. One caller actually implied that I was LAZY. Ha! *indignant* Of course I wouldn't want to attend some orientation I know nothing about on my birthday! And they had the nerve to try to make me feel bad about it. And they keep calling, up until yesterday! >:(

Harry Potter
I actually reserved a Harry Potter book~! It's not like me, I know. And I thought I was done with Harry Potter too, I mean, I was getting really sick of the previous books, and annoyed at some character portrayals (Sig might remember some rants of mine from the past), but then, after reading book 6, which I read for the first time just last May, my interest was rekindled. It may have something to do with the book's revival of interest in (and re-build-up of) the Draco character, (who as some of you may recall, has been one of my 2 favorite characters in Harry Potter since book 1 ~ though I was disappointed by the portrayal of the movie Draco, they made him too puny to be Harry's rival, I mean, he was scared of Hermione?!?)

Well, since it's supposedly the last and most important book in the series anyway, I figured that I'd read it along with everyone else and save myself the misery of those spoilers. Waiting for the paperback editions, though cheaper, can be disadvantageous. Considering I knew who would die before I even read the last 2 books, which was a terrible and anti-climactic way to enjoy any book, I'd rather get shocked this last time around.

And for those of you who are shocked that I'm willing to bear the burden of such an expense, don't be. I'm supposed to get a discount for reserving early, then I intend to sell the book as soon as I'm finished. (The discount will hopefully help me liquidate.) Besides, the hardbound edition won't match our already 6 paperback HP books. :p Boo spoilers!

Sports, here I come!
Gawd! My back pains are coming back. Just when I thought that maybe my fall last May wasn't very serious, my back started hurting in the exact same spot again. We had the doctor check it, and he simply recommended exercise to relieve whatever muscle is giving me pain. My spine wasn't injured, so it must be the muscle. ~_~ Unfortunately, I find jogging and walking way too boring. I swear I can't for the life of me figure out how people enjoy doing such things. I really can't. And to think that some people do it for fun! Why? Grr.. It's just my luck I guess. And since such boringness keeps me from walking/jogging regularly, the few times that I actually try to do it, I feel my lungs and heart will explode from exertion. I dunno if I have trouble breathing, or its just an unbelievable level of unfitness. How embarrassing. But if I enjoy what I'm doing.. it's my only hope. T_T

Eiga-sai

I was able to watch 2 of the Eiga-sai movies. Yay! And I got to see some of the kada again! Stacy, Sig and Vigile. The movies were nice, and I had a fun time watching them. Plus they were free. XD Some orgmates *cough* went to watch "The Stars Converge" on the last day of the festival in UP, and they didn't even invite anyone, so Levs, Ivan, Aileen and I resorted to watching the Nana live action movie again. I was reminded of how cute a movie it was. At first I was comparing Nana to Kamikaze Girls, then Kamikaze Girls to Nana, but in the end, I guess they aren't really similar, save for the fact that it's about 2 strikingly different girls forming an unlikely friendship. ^^;

Coffee Rush
You're probably wondering how I was able to come up with such a long list to blog about. It was all due to some free hot coffee and a freezing morning classroom. I was tempted into taking a cup of coffee from our org sponsor, Nescafe, despite the fact that I haven't had a cup of coffee for over a year. It was a small cup, but the effects lasted the whole day. I was so restless, I kept fidgeting and trying to supress the urge to shake my hands and tap my feet. I couldn't pay attentionto my professors either. Thus the list. Tsk. I never learn. I was so hyper that day, I remember jumping up and down when someone bought 2 bars of my Choco Mucho. XD

URgh... My eyes hurt. It's almost 4 am, so I won't go on with this list. (Keeping blog lists are actually tedious, so I gave up the idea ages ago, until the coffee rush that it.) I'll continue next time. @_@ And forgive the typos and grammatical errors, I don't have any brains left to go through the entry to recheck. Plus sleepy writers are bound to come up with sloppy articles. sleepy sloppy sleepy sloppy~ ZZZzzzzz...

saw part of kamikaze girls in youtube. the acting was a bit 'animated'. didn't finish it though as i found the plot too boring as it was much too focused on the visuals

coffee...never drink coffee again. i happen to drink coffee before a test i was going to take at 5 and i burned my tongue and i was so hyped up that i couldn't focus on the test
