...on Harry Potter book 7. (Warning: Spoilers ahead!)
I found it: touching. ^_^
Highlights:
~That part with Dudley and the cup of tea, I found it so touching, I could almost forgive Dudley for how horrible he's been in the past 6 books. It was so unexpected too. I thought it was a good start to the inevitable chain of goodbyes to come. :)
~I also loved the whole Kreacher story. If I was more prone to tears, I probably would have shed some for Regulus. Such a kind master.. *sniff* It also made me like Kreacher (though it was partly his fault that Sirius died). I really was saddened by the realization that no one would be coming back to Grimmauld Place, where Kreacher would be waiting with his meat and kidney pie. T_T
~I love the Malfoys! I love how Lucius turned to Narcissa when Voldy asked for his wand and how he seemed to draw strength from her when she touched his wrist under the table, all the while looking cold and stiff as she usually does. I loved that Narcissa was pulling Draco away from danger when Harry and Ron overpowered Bellatrix in Malfoy Manor. I loved how in the end, the Malfoy parents no longer cared about the war and its outcome, they just cared about their son's safety. I especially loved that Narcissa lied to Voldy himself, just to get the chance to find Draco.
And I was impressed with Draco as well. Though he didn't become part of Harry's group as I has so fervently hoped, he turned out to be a pretty compassionate person still, as already shown in book 6. Anyhow, not only did he deny recognizing the trio when questioned in the Malfoy Manor, he also risked his life to save Goyle. Amazing. He actually dragged the unconscious body of his uber heavy sidekick up a pile up tables, just to save him from some cursed fire. They both almost died. *tears* Then, he was asking about where Crabbe was when they were finally safe, despite the fact that Crabbe was the numskull who actually turned on Draco and mocked him (and his dad) before setting off the fire. Hate that kid. >.<
Love the Malfoys. ^_______^
~I was extremely amused when Hermione and Ron finally kissed. When they did, Harry (who was the only other person in the room) weakly says: "Is this the moment?" LOL What a thing to say.
~And the deaths totally overwhelmed me. Especially the one (I can't bring myself to mention who) where Percy was crying over the body. I almost teared up. I never thought this person would go. Shocking. T_T Same goes for the parents of Teddy. T_T They were so happy. The daddy was so proud... T_T
~But what revelation absolutely and totally shocked me? Hands down, Snape's revelation. Now THAT was totally heartbreaking and perhaps my favorite thing about the entire book. So much so that I think my favorite line in the book has become, as simple as it seems: "Always." *shrieks* And I was really really touched when Harry said Albus' middle name in the Epilogue. *sniff*
So many things, I can barely remember them. It was great, the last book, which was surprising cause last year I was pretty sure my interest in the HP series was on a rapid decline. I guess book 6 served to spark my interest, and book 7 capped it off quite nicely. I'm glad I got to enjoy the book. :) And I really did enjoy it. :)
"Always."
