My Christmas..
12:38 PM
December 27, 2007
My Christmas is.. tiring. Hwoah. We've had round after round after round of reunions, family dinners, family luncheons, etc. There was the Certeza reunion, the Lawyer's reunion (my dad's classmates' families celebrated in our little house. @_@), the "just-us-five" lunch (just the nuclear family, so to speak), Simbang Gabi and Noche Buena, Lunch with the Ejercitos, Dinner with the Sartes, Coffee with the cousins, Dinner at Dencio's (Christmas party of some sort), the Reyes Reunion, the Upsilon reunion (again, my dad's college friends), baptism of my ninang's daughter, Celece, then there's New Year's eve mass and dinner, and then the Ejercito/Santiago/Abarquez reunion. @_@ I tried to stick in a little studying, but I'm really lazy by nature and I can't seem to convince myself to study, even when I managed to sit myself in front of all my books. T_T
Anyway, I only had one gift under the tree this year. Bernice and I had to content ourselves with helping our parents open their gifts because ironically, our dad got the most gifts, then my mom. ^^ Hehe.. You'd have thought that the kids would get more gifts. ^^; But on the brighter side, I was able to buy myself some DVDs. :) And I also got myself a new set of earphones for my phone (I told you guys you have to do things yourself..^^), and I also bought myself a new keychain. ^^; And Bianca and I bought a new router. We have wifi at home now! XD
Anyway, the Christmas feeling has really been running low this year. It's been decreasing for the past few years really, but this year is just on an all time low. I still haven't gotten the "Christmas Feeling" yet. Vigile might know what I'm talking about, cause she rants about this occassionally for the past few years. ^^;
Also, sadly, our annual Barkada Christmas party didn't push through this year. T_T Acads really get in the way of life don't they. >_<
Happy Holidays!
11:31 AM
Merry Christmas everybody!
I'm sorry to the many people I didn't text back or greet.. Sadly, in the middle of the mad texting rush, I found myself with a zero load balance. XP Anyway, I hope you all had a good week so far, that you all enjoyed good food (I have.. XD), got great gifts (...) and got to spend your time doing what you like doing (ahem, I hope nobody studied cause I didn't! @_@ I'm not being competitive, I'm just looking for an ally, given the situation. Hehe.)
Still reading..

December 22, 2007
Sorry, but I just had to share what I just read. XD
"And so the lion fell in love with the lamb…" he murmured.
"What a stupid lamb," I sighed.
"What a sick, masochistic lion."
-Stephanie Meyer, Twilight.
For some weird reason, I really found this amusing. XD
More on Twilight~

December 21, 2007
Stealing a quick post while I burn some stuff. Arrgh! Burning takes forever! X_x
As I was saying, this quick post will be on the book Twilight. ^^; One of the things I noticed about how it was written was that the author relied mostly on the characters' eyes and voice to convey emotion and to get the story going. She spared minimal words on the description of the surroundings or even what the characters were wearing, but you could still really get a sense of character build-up. I found this particularly interesting. She always mentions the expression on Edward's eyes, whether they were hard, cold, amused, mocking, etc., as well as the tone of his voice, and of course the frequent changes in both. I'm not sure, but in a way it's a contrast to Vigile's writing, because Vigile always communicates to her readers a certain sense of surrounding, with less emphasis on voice and expressions. I guess she focuses more on thoughts too, while Stephanie Meyer carries along with dialogue. Not saying that either is better, both are good. :)
*Which reminds me that I'm totally trashing my Ventures article. I haven't heard from the people I asked a critique for, so I'm assuming it's so bad they can't find it in their hearts to reply back. T_T But anyway, the longer I think of the story anyway, the more I dislike it, so it met its inevitable fate anyway.*
And back to Twilight. Grr.. I mentioned that Levs was pissed of with the casting of Edward right? (Sorry I keep mentioning it Levs. :p) As it turns out, reading the book after the character was cast is also a big pain. Sure I'm not as attached to Edward as Levs is, (hehe.. ^^v) but while you're reading the book, you can't help but imagine what the character looks like, and it's a bit annoying to suddenly have Pattinson pop up in your head during those happy encounters I read about. >_< It's starting to frustrate me, plus the fact that it isn't helping me let go of the subject. @__@
I'm 2/5ths done with the book! Woohoo! Making progress! XD
The Lantern Parade
11:36 PM
December 20, 2007
I'm so lazy... I have a lot of stuff I wanted to say, apologies for not pushing through with plans, etc., but I'm still a bit tired. As soon as I got home from the lantern parade, I just flopped onto my bed and fell asleep, my legs still dangling to the floor, and all fully dressed. I woke sometime later, changed, then slept again. --__--
Today was much the same, I got home from Antipolo, hung out at Sig's for around half an hour, got home, flopped onto bed, tired, undressed, and slept. I woke up again, finally changed to house clothes and ate my dinner. Then I forced myself to blog that monster of an entry down there, which took pretty much all my energy. @_@
I'm trying to spare a little more energy to hop onto multiply though. @_@ And to report that:
My college will no longer have a college graduation. Our graduates this year will have to be content with the University graduation. Shame. Because our dean declared it. -_- apparently she's angry that no one turned up to support the BA lantern. Hello? There were supporters, it's just that some of them left before you arrived. Besides, the BA lantern looked a teeny bit pitiful after you DIDN'T spare any budget for it. I'm not graduating this year, but I feel the injustice. It's the centennial year. And those grads paid a hefty graduation fee. It's cruel to deprive them on whim. If you ask me, the admin is just cutting down on expenses. -_- Mean. Cruel. Evil.
Grr... I changed my mind about uploading. I'm tired. @_@ There are just too many pics, and they aren't even all very good pics. T_T I want a SLR. hehe...
Watching TV
9:22 PM
I love House. I really do. ^__^<3<3<3
I'm currently watching The Amazing Race Asia 2 though, not House. :P The teams are currently in Japan. I'm feeling a little frustrated cause the Philippine teams, Terri and Henry especially, aren't doing well. :( *sadness* But at least I like the Japanese team. ^^; But of course, my loyalties lie where they naturally should. And I kinda find Terry and Henry cute. ^^; He said: "If we make it, it would be because of her great effort..." Aww.. Even after round and rounds of her screaming at him, he still says that. Now that's a couple who really loves each other.
Anyway, I'm also currently reading Twilight, the e-book Levs sent me. It's taking me longer than she estimated, cause I'm not used to reading e-books. I just have to stop. @_@ I even loaded it onto my phone, but I still have to stop frequently, cause I'm worried about my phone's battery. And my eyes still can't take the strain. ^^; Anyway, Twilight is another vampire story, and I've been curious about it since my cousin posted it in her multiply. And lately, plans have been set to make the book a movie, starting with (but of course) the casting of the lead actors. AAAaaarrgghhHH!! Now that I'm starting to get attached to the characters, I'm really starting to share Levs' annoyance for the actor chosen to play Edward. Edwaaard~! >_<>_< I even somehow ended up ranting about it to Vigile, just because she was online and though she couldn't relate. ^^; But anyway, the book is really fun, hehe.. XD
I've also started playing Solstice. (My, my.. I've been very busy this Christmas break. Hehe..) I made a character who I named after one of my favorite characters in The Last Unicorn. ( I soo love that character. <3 <3 <3 Especially now that I've gotten my hands on the sequel, Two Hearts. *dies* Love it!) Anyway, as usual, I suck at Solstice. I keep dying so much, I think I died about 14-15 times within 30 minutes. ^^; (Of course I have to spare time for my character to revive and walk to the hunting grounds before I get killed again, hence the 15:30 ratio.) I'm so bad at games, it's not just pathetic, it's heart-breaking. Sig heartily congratulated me when I finally leveled up. TuT
Oh, and I also wanted to report that despite the effort I put into the gift, I don't think the person who I got for my class' exchange gift liked what I gave. Our budget was an astoundingly high P150, and he asked for a textbook, a shirt and a laptop sleeve. Obviously, the only thing within budget was the shirt, but that's where the trouble starts. It must be obvious, but I have no idea what kind of shirt to pick for guys. (Tsk.. yet another thing I suck at.) I felt kind of sorry, cause everyone got pretty good gifts too. ^^; But thankfully, he was really nice about it, and he thanked me twice. But I could sense he was just being really really polite and nice. Haaay... I'm sorry. @__@ I got the book Remains of the Day. :D Cool neh?
OMG. I'm watching the D10 right now, and it reports that Jamie Lynn Spears (sorry about the spelling) is pregnant. HWhaaat? Pregnant? Isn't she the star of one of those tweeny shows on Nickelodeon? I've always disliked the show, but pregnancy? Shocking.. Could she be falling into the path of her big sister? Disastrous. Disappointing. TSK. TSK.
Backtrack. Sorry, D10 managed to shock me again with its scandals. I realized yet again just how nice JPIAns are. ^^;
Nakakatuwa lang. I went on the much-awaited commeet with them today, except instead of Tagaytay, they moved it to Antipolo. I posted some stuff on my multiply, although most of the pictures were in cameras owned by other members. It was really nice there! XD
We also played a get-to-know game. It was really random and everyone thought it would be senseless too, but we ended up digging up a lot of things. For instance, one of the JPIA girls seriously dreams of posing for FHM, even for just a small shot. I was personally amazed. She even declined swimming so she wouldn't get dark. She was also one of the more serious and quiet ones, so I have a feeling she really really means what she says. Another one admitted that her dream (as in what she really really wants in life)
is to be a nun. Another unexpected twist. I think she almost cried when we tried to ask about it too deeply. You could tell she really holds the idea close to her heart. ^^; And on top of it all, she didn't go to a Catholic school. Amazing. One of the co-chairs commented that maybe she really is being called by God. She said that if she ever went in, she didn't want to come out again, you know, those nuns who stay in the convent for the rest of their lives without ever ever leaving it. And on top of it all, she's one of the pretty JPIAns who's linked to one of the biggest heart throbs in the org, as well as one of the more controversial guys. Interesting ne?
And as for me, if I had to sum up my dream in life, it would simply be to get really rich, then travel the world and indulge in the hobbies I've always dreamed of. I'll take horseback riding lessons, pottery, painting, Japanese lessons, piano lessons, etc. And I'll put up an institution or fix up a hospital or school to do my part for society. Although when I was thinking about what I wanted, I drew a big blank. Which is a bad thing. I can't imagine myself as
anything. Not an accountant, not a CEO. I dunno. @_@ And it's weird cause only one person really wanted to be an accountant. Everyone else (including yours truly) was in it for the money. :P Hehe...
And again, there was the question, would any of us go on ahead to law school? Or maybe MS Fin? Personally, going into Law school is a big sure NO for me. Sorry dad. ^^ Aside from the fact that I actually imagine smoldering coals when I think of going through law school (seriously, the image always comes), my dad and granddad left a pretty high bar of achievement to meet. And that goes for both the LAE and the Bar. Admittedly, I probably don't have my dad's brains. Once, my relatives were discussing "the unliked tita", and somebody confessed her standards for choosing a guy. He has to be as good-looking as the guy she dated before, as rich as the dad of France, as nice as tito Dindo, the husband of her closest cousin, and as smart as my dad. Oooh... Can you feel the bar already? @_@
I'm now watching America's Next Top Model. They replayed it. Grr... >_<
So much I wanna do, so little time. XD

Researching
1:16 AM
I was (as the title mentions) researching some non-academic related stuff, and I came across a lot of irritating stuff mostly related to books I've read or am currently reading.
1) draco stuff - sorry. I thought I moved on and was past feeling annoyed at so many misrepresentations. Don't even get me started, because I have a lot to say in his defense. For instance, one of the most prominent descriptions of the Slytherins was that they're cunning in that given a choice, they'd choose to save their necks than risk it for others. Hmm.. In book 7, we find Draco struggling to pull his fat sidekick up a pile of desks to save both their lives. That he even tried to do such a thing instead of escape outright was admirable. And the fact that he asked for Goyle (?) after they were saved, Goyle who had turned on him and defied his orders (even insulted him and nearly caused their deaths), was also rather touching. Poor guy. I think he was a genius for being able to repair the transporting cabinet thing, and it was sad that unlike Harry who often had friends to turn to, he had to do everything alone, which ended in him nearly breaking down (and finding an unusual friend in MM). And no one gives him credit for not turning Harry and co. over to Bellatrix in book7. T_T I dunno, I guess I must be a fan of undervalued antagonists. ^^
2) edward stuff - why rob pattinson? Grr...
Forgive the rants (and any typos you find.. i'm kinda sleepy na eh. :p
Early Pre-graduation Rites
1:55 PM
December 15, 2007
What's up with this? Well, I'm starting to realize, as I've told Bong, that despite the fact that I won't be graduating till next school year, I've already begun going through the usual rituals of a graduating UP student.
1)
Thesis all-nighters. I'm not even close to starting my own, and yet I've experienced the stressful overnight cramming of such. *a few pics in multiply*
2) *and this is where it gets really controversial*
Attending the Oblation Run. People who usually make it a point to stay away from the AS walk on such an occasion usually find themselves thinking, "
Since it's my last year, I might as well watch it. It is, after all, my last year, and it IS part of the whole UP experience and everything..." Yes,
I was on the street fronting the AS steps, amidst a crowd who'd shriek with excitement at the drop of a hat. I was actually amused by the number of false alarms that sent the crowd into what i call a "fever pitch".
What
is the Oblation run, you ask? It's this yearly event in UP where a frat sends their neophytes (often accompanied by senior members who enjoy the thrill of such things, i hear) running along the corridors of the Arts and Sciences building totally naked, save for a mask, of course. Why I was there in the first place can be answered by the fact that the rest of powerpuff (i.e. Bong and Vigile), asked me to accompany them since it was their last year in UP. And finally, the most exciting question,
did I see anything? Well, considering my proximity to the area of the run (again, across the street from the AS steps), considering the hordes of other people and mediamen crawling the place, and finally considering WHO this is we're talking about, the answer is, plain and simple, no. 1) as soon as they stepped onto the steps, everyone especially those equipped with video recorders and cameras, all swarmed tightly towards the runners, creating a circle that reminded me of how you build a moat around a sand castle to keep water from flowing out. 2) we weren't even near enough to be considered the "sand forming the moat". We were yards away, watching the moat do its business around their sand castles. -_- 3) As soon as they climbed down the stairs, the only real chance to get what Bong terms "a glimpse", the shock of their entrance caused me to turn my face away. Sorry, it was an involuntary move caused by politeness. I live a boringly conservative life here. ^^; In the end, the only thing we really saw were the masks, nothing more. ^^;
Last question, Vigile asked, who would be the least likely person we'd ever find watching the Oblation Run? And here are the resulting answers, in no particular order:
~ Sig (XD I can't even imagine her agreeing to watch it)
~ Ivan (I can't even imagine him standing there without looking away)
~Virmarie and Monique (High School classmates. Highly unlikely as well. ^^;)
~Bong, Vigile and Gen (Bong's answer. The best though most ironic answer of the day. ^^;)
How's that for an early graduation rite? XD
More rants!
12:43 PM
Turns out the loss of my driver's license this time around came with a consequence worse than I expected. As it turns out, the plans to get us driving by December had been put in motion already. My dad hired a professional driver to accompany us as we drive around, the first step to allowing us to drive alone in the wild and dangerous streets of Metro Manila. Grr.. The driver is coming this Monday, and my dad reckons that he'll be gone by the time I'm able to get my driver's license back, given the arrangements for the affidavits of loss, etc.
And to add more salt into this already painful life, it turns out that my stolen Form 5 is required to get a new UP ID. How the hell..?
And I spent last Thursday night in an all-nighter in Burger King with my good friends Bong and Vigile. It's been quite some time since I've spent as much quality time with them, so I don't mind that I had to go back home first and get the books I had to study. *mumbles again about rotten luck* We stayed there till morning, the second time I've ever stayed up all night outside of my house to study. But because of this all-nighter, I was unable to meet the Ventures ' deadliest deadline and hence, the short story I've been slaving over wasn't included in the issue. Haay... Well, I guess in a way it isn't so bad, since I wasn't all that confident about the article anyway. I'll post it here under the heading A Cold Christmas.
Also, writing the short story made me realize that I'm really really rusty at writing. So rusty, I seem to have lost the "flair" entirely. Which of course only made me want to polish up on my writing and write more. ^^ Deja vu anyone? Does this seem reminiscent of my photoshop entry? XD
And as I've been telling Bong and Vigile, my lola has started staying with us. Supposedly, it's only a temporary arrangement, but everyone is starting to sense that this will be longer than originally expected. And of course, given the small size of our house, my lola had to occupy Bern's room. It sort of reminded me of how Sarah Jessica Parker's character took the sister's room in Family Stone. Of course the sister was furious. -_- And this lola doesn't even remember my name. Like it was below her to remember her grandchild's name when she remembers the names of relatives like the wife of the first cousin of her husband. -_- She refers to me as "
si kwan." or "
si ano." Very endearing, really. And once, when my mom told her that she had a meeting and couldn't drive her around:
Lola:"O sige. Maglalakad nalang ako. Kung mamatay, edi mamatay."
Mom: "I'm sorry. If you want, I can drive you to that place, but I can't wait on you cause I have to leave for a really meeting."
Lola: "Hindi... Maglalakad nalang ako. Kung mamatay, edi mamatay."
She always, always seems to thrive under a blanket of pity. -_-I'm sorry, but I'm not the only one who sees it that way.
But on the lighter side of things, my accounting exam was moved to next year! Yeah! I actually heard a Gloria/Alleluia song in my head when I heard the news. ^^ Seriously.
Quote time!
8:29 PM
December 11, 2007
I was once again blog hopping, all the while marveling how I could possibly have run out of things to do online. So I came upon the following quotes:
From Katrina's LJ Profile:
"What are you writing?
A novel.
What's the story?
There's no story.
It's just...
people, gestures, moments,
bits of rapture, fleeting emotions.
In short,
the greatest stories ever told.
Are you in the story?
I don't think so."
--A Waking Life
I liked the
gestures, moments part. It sort of reminded me of this line from the movie Cold Mountain, where Nicole Kidman's character said something about not knowing Jude Law's character very well:
ADA: We barely knew each other. A few moments...
and then Jude Law interrupts:
INMAN: A thousand moments. They're like a
bag of tiny diamonds glittering in a
black heart. Don't matter if they're
real or things I made up....
Etc, etc... I liked that line. ^^; How he counted their time together in moments, each one remembered so fondly. I also liked this part, when Jude Law finally returned to Cold Mountain:
INMAN: Ada? Ada Monroe?
ADA: I do not know you.
After all this time, all this way,
Inman could give up the ghost.
INMAN: Then I believe I made a mistake.
He turns, walks heavily away from her. Then he turns again,
completely lost
INMAN: If I knew where to go I'd go there.
ADA: (finally recognising him) Inman?
He nods. They don't know how to speak to each other, just
stand awkwardly, some distance apart, the emotion stones in
their throats. Eventually --
ADA: You'd better come with me.
And with that, she starts to sob, and sob.
That was the part when Jude Law finally came back after walking and traveling for days, getting shot at, and everything. That she didn't recognize him and sent him away was so.. *makes dying sounds*
Last quote:
"I don't count on anything anymore, except the hope
that you will return, and the silent fear that in the end,
since we saw each other, this war, this awful war,
will have changed us both beyond all reckoning. - Ada Monroe
The movie could have been nice, but it had too many sexual parts. T_T
Justice must hate me..
9:26 PM
December 10, 2007
Because Justice seems to be hiding from me and my life. WHY?? Because to those of you who don't already know...
my wallet was ONCE AGAIN stolen. Being that its the
second time in the last six months, I have to say, it's a bit too frequent to be fair. And this time, it was actually pulled out of the
front pocket of my jeans. Umm.. how does anyone even get close enough to do that? @_@
And here's how it happened. A.k.a. a look into the unlucky days of gen. -_-
My glasses suddenly fell apart. As in, out of the blue one of my nose pads just broke off and poked me in the face. (Thank God it spared my eye!)
So I went to get it fixed. But the glasses shop in UP didn't have change so they sent me running around to get my bill broken down to smaller bills. Considering how unlucky I was that day, of course none of the shops agreed to change it. So I went to the Coop to buy something, and while I was paying, I felt
"something" hit my leg by my pocket. But when I looked around, there was no one near. But I quickly searched for my wallet anyway and found it was indeed missing. I went back to ALL the shops I went to and asked people if they've seen the wallet. No hope. And I really felt something. This is probably what people call the denial stage. I even called both my parents to see if I maybe left it at home or in the car, although I distinctly remember taking it out of my bag and shoving into my pocket when I was already in UP.
Is there no justice in the world?? Give me back my wallet!!!
As usual, it contained all my important UP stuff, my ID, my Form 5 (proof that I enrolled), my library card, etc. It also contained my driver's license, my TimeZone card (P100+ unused load inside), Laking National Card, National Discount card, UPCE mem card, and other discount cards. All my valid IDs. And the neoprint of Tracy, Vig, Dwelly, Sig and me. And all my new ID pictures. @_@
And Bong's right. How come she never gets pickpocketed when she's so careless with her things, while I, the girl who's still traumatized and paranoid after the last theft (enough to have resorted to using a wallet that doesn't even look like a wallet), still got victimized twice? Argh!! Why me why me why me???? And how'd they even know it was a wallet?? I didn't take it out to get money from it except inside the empty Glasses store. T_T
Anyway, I was late for class, courtesy of the theft, and we had a surprise quiz. Then I went with the Powerpuff and discovered that the photo booth we were planning to patronize was closed, and my bag even got tangled in a bit of straw holding the booths down. -_- Bong said I was so unbelievably unlucky that day that it was already funny. It
was unbelievable. T_T
Plus recently, I found a strand of white hair growing from my head. Waaah! Is the stress that extreme that my hair is turning white? X___x My mom and sisters aren't prone to white hair, in case you're wondering, which is why it's also so weirdly unbelievable. Or just plain unlucky, I guess.
Photoshop Revisited
10:18 AM
December 07, 2007
It's been some time since I used Photoshop, especially since I had to uninstall it weeks ago when we were prepping our computer for reformatting. And I was surprised today at how rusty I've become at using it. T___T
I actually forgot some of the shortcuts and how to use some of the tools, etc. I had to randomly push keys, etc. It was
mortifying!
I think I need to brush up on my Photoshop. ^^ New lay-out maybe?
Post Entry Note
1:10 PM
December 05, 2007
I reread some parts of my recent blog entries and I found tons of typos and grammatical errors. Enough to shame all my past English teachers and to force them into early retirement. @_@ Well, as always, I'm sorry for such and such. I'll try to be really careful next time. Hope you guys weren't too appalled by the mistakes. XD

Wanted: Make-over Consultant!
1:44 PM
Aaargh... I attended my lola's 40th day prayers, only to hear that some titas had commented about how horribly I dress. --___--
WAAAH!!! Fashionista friends! Help me! It's not my fault that my mom and I don't see eye-to-eye when it comes to fashion! Her idea of new clothing is always long sleeved, button down shirts that I can't imagine wearing on a daily basis. Or a halter with glittery stuff on it. X_x (If you're gonna get me clothes, transition slowly please. I don't want to shock my sensibilities and the world by wearing a tube top out of the blue for school tomorrow. -_-) And slacks 24/7. We used to have a problem with jeans as well since she didn't think flared jeans are for people of my height. --___-- That solved, she still insists on getting us to wear slacks at every occasion possible. Just because she proudly NEVER wears jeans doesn't mean we should never wear them too. -_- And lately she wants us to wear the type of shirts with ribbon thingy you tie around your waist. Umm.. Hello? Pick clothes that fit our body type will ya? Big waisted girls shouldn't wear such stuff. It just ain't flattering.
Plus she keeps commenting on how much she hates my jackets but when we
do go out the jackets she buys for us are waAAAaay oversized or too heavily lined. You know, the type you only ONLY ever wear in a snowing country. Or in Baguio during Christmas, at night. The last one she bought was so heavy and bulky, and lined with, I dunno, CARPETING. Gaaah!
And shoes! Don't even get me started on shoes.
Friday Holiday~

December 01, 2007
This Friday, following the cancellation of my org's Tagaytay trip after the
coup attempt in Makati, I had lunch in Shakey's with my Kada friends, courtesy of birthday girl Kimmy~! Yay!! Had a fun time discussing plans for this year's Christmas/New Year's bash, though I didn't have a chance to talk to Kimmy much, given the geography of the seating arrangements. XD No matter, I haven't seen Kimmy in a long while and at least the Kada was complete. ^^; At one point, the Shakey's crew even sang for Kimmy. ^^; That was one of the most shocking birthday song performances I've ever seen, mostly due to the fact that the entire restaurant seemed booming with the music to accompany the crew. Or maybe every performance is shocking, it's just that Kimmy's was the most recent I've seen. ^^; Sorry Kimmy, hope you weren't too mortified. XD That's why afterwards, we were kidding Kimmy that she should eat the entire ice cream bowl to cool her head instead of offering it to us. XD
Anyway, Christmas promises to be really exciting. :D
And then afterwards, we decided to go watch Enchanted, and so we did. ^^; This at the sacrifice of all my money except about 9 pesos, just enough to get me home. ^^; Enchanted was fun, and in the middle of the movie (particularly when people start singing) I found myself thinking about Sig and how horrified she'd have been. Shame. It would have been fun to watch the movie with Sig. :p
We also played a little arcade. I still had a free game stored in my Timezone card , so we played the huge yellow drum thingys, and then Tracy gave me half of her Drummania game, so I was finally able to finish, finally, the song Sobakasu. Finally. XD We tried it that Thursday night, which made the game end prematurely cause Sobakasu requires a lot of foot movement, I really don't have hand and foot coordination. :p
Well, the night ended with a long walk home. It was a cool night, and my bag was lighter than usual (I had the foresight to leave most of my books home that Thurs morning) so I quite enjoyed it. It already felt like a Saturday, but it wasn't, so I was feeling the freedom of time. Heheh... (In plain terms, I still had 2 days to do schoolwork, so I could do anything I wanted at that moment. Freedom of Time.) I was thinking of dropping by Sig's house to irritate her about Enchanted (hehe.. *huggles sig*) but decided against it and just went home and straight to bed. ^^;
P.S. I did bathe that day. XD Even if I did sleep at Tracy's. ^^;
Curfew Night! >_<
12:12 PM
Thursday.
My inconsiderate professor insisted on having classes till 7pm, despite the fact that everyone would have a really really hard time going home, given the political turmoil of that day. In case some of you don't know, there was a grand
coup attempt late that morning, so the stock market was crashing, the nlex, slex and Edsa were getting check-points, everyone was being sent home, etc. It was so bad that I was standing in Katipunan after class waiting a long time for a jeep with room for passengers to pass by. It was 7thirty pm and already, everyone was going home. -_- There was a huge crowd waiting for jeeps as well, and almost all the jeeps had at least 2 men hanging from them.
Here you can find me thinking about the unfairness of the social gender system.. how come only guys can hang on to a jeep even when girls wear pants? Afterall, we women need to go places as well. @_@ The situation was so dire that a girl standing next to me asked me if I wanted to walk to Marikina instead of waiting for the jeep, cause it was hopeless. She wanted a companion, which was understandable, unfortunately, I wasn't really heading her way (or up to an insanely long walk), so I just waved her off as I watched her left. And all the while the men smoke their cigarettes (so inconsiderate) and then just hop on to the next jeep they see.
Anyhow, considering the situation, I was so glad to bump into a classmate, and together we headed for the line waiting for the FXs. To our shock, they were already shooing the people away, cause the FXs won't pass by anymore. Grr.. Then I get the text message that there would be a curfew that night! WAAAH! @_@ Getting panicky!
Why was I even in Katipunan given the situation? Because some cousin of mine seemed so excited and pushy about a certain plan that
I didn't even know included her, (grabe!), I decided to go against my instinct and not cancel the plans for the night. Afterall, it seemed I was the only one who felt any possible problems. -_- And then that evil cousin texts me that she won't go afterall. -_- I was so furious I think I growled out loud. Not that anyone noticed in the noise of the crowd. Imagine the crowd was so big that only I could hear my own exclamation of frustration. ^^; nag "
nxt tym nlng" pa sya! I was seriously tempted to text back that "
There will be no next time." I didn't even know she was invited, and if she hadn't been so pushy, I'd have been safely at home where I should be instead of stuck in this crowd. >_<
Luckily, Tracy had been on her way home from school about an hour earlier, and was near the area. She offered to fetch me and we went to Big R with her dad and played the drums to vent off steam. ~_~ I then called my mom, and she suggested, as Tracy's dad had also suggested, that I sleep over. Imagine a situation where the parents themselves suggest such things. ^^;
Anyway, so there, slept at Tracy's. I was pleasantly surprised that sleeping in her room was almost exactly like sleeping in our old room in my lola's house in Subic (old room cause my sisters and I were forced to move rooms). We also played Harvest Moon on the Playstation and watched the opening songs of some favorite RPGs, and watched some anime and the Amazing Race Asia. Sorry, I didn't take any pics cause she also let me try on Selda's Gogo costume (from Kill Bill). And no way will I ever EVER let the world see me in that skirt. Ever. XD
They even cooked me dinner cause I had forgotten that I hadn't eaten dinner in the shock of the curfew. But I guess I was lucky that I was stranded in such a fun place. XD
