Sisig Alert!!

As I've told the trio, my dad is experiencing some cholesterol problems and, as such, has taken certain measures to improve his diet. Of course, we're always ready and willing to help. *chuckles evilly* In fact, we've been waiting to help for a looooong time now. For as long as I can remember, the kids of this house have gone as far as scolding the parents to stop eating their chicharon and what not. So lately, we managed to get our hands on a table of cholesterol values so as to help pinpoint the food that's best to avoid.
And it's best you guys know as well right?
But first note that for a person weighing 75kgs, the daily cholesterol consumption should not exceed 300mg. Okay!
1. A 100g serving of pig's brain has 3100mg of cholesterol already. More than 10 times the daily limit! AMAGAD. And what food has pig's brains? Sisig. Well, not always, but most of the time. I got a recipe for sisig online just to check, and 1kg of pig's head is sometimes cooked with 1/4th kilos of pig's brains, which makes about a plate. Shame. I like sisig. :( But pig's brain is an OPTIONAL part of the recipe only, so there's always hope right? ^^
2. A 100g serving of clams contains 454mg of cholesterol. Also more than the daily limit. Fortunately, I don't like clams, at all. :p I wonder if Oysters are just as bad?
3. Squid. For a 100g serving, you get 265mg of cholesterol. Wow. Not quite the daily limit, but close. Unfortunately, my mom loves squid. Who knew right?
4. A 50g egg contains 266mg of cholesterol in its yolk part. The egg white, on the other hand contains no cholesterol. :D
5. Butter (100g) = 260mg cholesterol
6. Vegetable Oil (100g) = 0 mg cholesterol (yay!) -- as in peanut, corn oil, etc.
7. Fruits, Vegetables, Cereal (wheat, etc) (100g) = 0 mg cholesterol
8. Fatty Lamb (100g) = 173 mg cho
9. Fatty Beef (100g) = 125 mg cho
10. Lean Lamb (100g) = 70 mg cho
11. Lean Beef (100g) = 65 mg cho
12. Chicken (100g) = 60-90 mg cho
13. Lean Pork (100g) = 77 mg cho
14. Pork Chop (100g) = 105 mg cho
15. Ice cream (100g) = 45 mg cho
16. Crab (100g) = 164 mg cho
17. Shrimp (100g) = 154 mg cho --- T_T I love shrimp!
I'm tired. This'll do. XD
