(For the nth time) CRS blues...

As fate would have it, I can't take Hapon 10 again this semester. Gawd. How many semesters do I have to try to get into that class? I think I've been trying since I was in second or third year. Even after Vigile cruelly crushed my dreams against the wall time and again, I persevered, and still I have nothing to show for it. I took summer classes and my econ classes in advance just to make room for all three jap courses, and still nothing. WHY?? I'm graduating in a year, and a semester is not enough to take all three Jap courses (three to at least be at the conversational level). When I graduate, I'd either have to pay a really hefty sum to enter into Language classes, or I'd have to rely on my self-discipline to self study. In other words, the likelihood of my learning Japanese after I graduate will be pretty close to null. Nada. Zero.

To make the injury worst than agonizing, the new CRS regime is a little too strict. I'm barred from Latin classes, from almost all Econ classes but the few in my curriculum, and I'm even barred from most BA electives because it's not in my curriculum. And Econ students, even Eng'g students can take the damn class! And according to our college secretary, BAA students can take the BA classes, but CRS prevents us from even trying to enlist. -_- I'm effectively reduced to nothing but an accounting robot. I can't take up foreign languages, econ courses or business courses so I can't even venture into the business world as a fairly well-rounded fresh grad unless I'm willing to spend days lining up to enlist. -_- And it does take days to enlist in BA recently. It didn't use to be this way. *sulk sulk*

don't you think "cruelly crushed" is too harsh a phrase? =(

and "time and again"?? i could only think of one time that you might have taken as being crushed against a wall, but only one time. and in my defense, just because je was there with me doesn't mean I intentionally did NOT want you to be my classmate, I even texted you which room it was. except the professor was being very obnoxious about not taking in prerogs so I got worried for you because she was torturing this one student.

as for the rest of those times I crushed your dreams, please enlighten me.

Okay. *shrugs* Come CRS time, or even ESF time, I'd put Hapon10 in my list of subjects and then when we'd talk about our subjects for the next sem, electives, schedules and what not, naturally I'd end up mentioning my plans to take Hapon class. At times I'd even mention my plan to take all 3 courses (as mentioned in the entry) to explain my taking some subject early or why I'm taking summer classes.

And you'd time and again (and this happens almost every semester, Bong probably knows the story) speak in your most belittling tone about how that won't do me any good anyway because your mom took 3 units of Spanish and she can't speak the language due to the fact that she doesn't have anyone to converse to. You'd say it was useless, and the like.

And I'd valiantly argue that I can talk to Tracy or watch Japanese stuff or something, and you'd find some way to bash that argument (like how that still isn't conversing, or that Tracy won't speak Japanese most of the time I talk to her, etc.)

You'd even sometimes bring up the fact that your Latin class was totally useless to you, and how you can't even remember much from it, etc.

Then you'd go into a happy discourse about your own free electives and how many you could take in your curriculum, etc.And considering I didn't have free electives at all and simply took my econ early (etc.) to make room for such, I really didn't understand why you felt the need to bash my plans.

Imagine how I felt then, after semesters of such a conversation, to find YOU in a Hapon class last semester. And imagine how much worse I felt after I found out that you only took it to secure yourself an uno.

But anyway, I wasn't really referring to the last sem as a time when you "crushed" my plans. Though I admit it's a source of some bitterness, it's not like I can blame you for being a graduating student and getting into the class. Chances are, if you didn't, some other graduating person (or freshie) would have gotten the slot. Not me. I was thinking more of the "figurative" crushing you previously used to do.

So seeing as much, you have to forgive the bitterness and phrases like "cruelly crushed".

you'll probably get it next sem since you're graduating, and even if you don't get all three, at least you get one, right? ^^
