Techno Problems

Firstly, Vigile! I fixed the multiply adhoc pic problem. You can probably look at it now. :)
Next, I'm very pleased to say that I discovered something that helped me do away with my virus problem without having to reformat my beloved computer. <3 Most of you probably know about this little technique already, in fact, I've been told about it time and again, I just never got around to studying it cause I never needed it. ^^ SYSTEM RESTORE. What a great function. XD
Two days ago, my mom's USB got my computer severely 'virused'. My task manager and anti-virus program were both disabled and prevented from running. I was so close to reformatting, as in I already deleted a lot of the files I didn't want (or didn't have the capacity) to burn, I made a list of current programs I'd have to install after reformatting, saved my firefox bookmarks and fonts, etc., everything I could think of to help restore my computer to its pre-formatted state. But I couldn't do it. It would have taken too much effort having to work with a practically new and blank state computer, when I currently had mine set-up with everything I wanted just as I wanted it. It got me a bit depressed just thinking I had to reformat. ^^
But I wasn't giving up hope. I ordered Bianca to look at my computer with her Linux OS, just to see if it can sniff out the virus (cause it's usually able to in the past), but then Bianca's Linux CD was damaged for some reason, so she couldn't work her magic. Then I tried getting updates for the anti-virus, no luck. I Googled up possible solutions, and even seriously considered removing my hard drive and using another computer (with a working anti-virus) to scan it. Finally, an innocent Yahoo Answers page revealed a simple suggestion, the system restore. The answer didn't even get any votes, while the answer with the most votes didn't work for me anyway, the one where you try fiddling with the registry -- type "gpedit.msc" in Run, etc..
It just made me realize how much I loved my computer. <3 I'm so at home with my desktop PC, I'd have trouble if I had to own a laptop simultaneously. ^^;
And another problem I encountered today, (though this isn't really computer related) was that this morning, I was musing about my watch and how old and not-very-pleasant looking it was and how I'd like to buy a new one sometime. And then later that afternoon, to my utter horror and mortification (and utter unluckiness, I suppose), I was almost late for a class with my deadliest terror teacher because my watched stopped 20 minutes before the class. And there I was wondering why people were all leaving to go to class when I wasn't even near 2thirty yet. @_@ SH*T! I think time (and my heart) stopped for me for a few seconds when I was told that it was actually past 2 thirty and my watch had stopped. ^^ *panic* But anyway, the coincidence is astounding. ^^
